Closure Reasons

Closure Reasons define the reasons available when closing a request. Each closed request must have an associated closure reason.

Common Closure Reasons

  • Completed — The request was processed and a response was provided
  • Withdrawn — The requestor withdrew the request
  • Abandoned — The requestor did not respond to follow-up communications
  • Transferred — The request was transferred to another institution

Managing Closure Reasons

  • Add — Click Add Reason, enter the name (and translations if multiple languages are enabled), and save.
  • Edit — Click on an existing reason to update it.
  • Remove — Delete reasons that are no longer needed.

Usage

When an SAO closes a request, they select the closure reason from a dropdown. This reason is recorded on the request and included in statistical reports.
