How to do the Out of office steps on My Day: set up coverage while you are away, see what your delegate gets, and end coverage early.

Get Started: Out of Office Delegation
The Out of office: delegate your work topic on My Day is for everyone who can delegate their own work. Coverage is an overlay: your delegate can see and act on your in-scope work, but nothing changes hands, and everything reverts when it ends.
Set up coverage while you are away
- Click Coverage delegations (out of office) on the toolbar to open Manage delegations.
- Click New delegation. Only one active or pending delegation is allowed at a time.
- Pick the delegate and give the delegation a name.
- Choose the scope: Everything, or Specific areas such as Requests, Assessments, Incidents, Complaints, Assignments or Reviews.
- Set a start date and an optional end date, and add a reason and instructions.
- Save. If the start is today or earlier, coverage begins at once. Otherwise it shows as Pending. You and your delegate are both notified.
See what your delegate gets
Select Guide me on this step. It shows what your delegate sees: a You're covering for ... item on their My Day, and a Covered by ... chip next to your name on each case you own. The step ticks when you finish the tour.
End coverage early
Open Manage delegations and use End on the active delegation. Your delegate's access stops immediately and there is nothing to hand back. A pending delegation can be activated early, edited or deleted.
Guide me, Practise and Mark complete
Each step in the Get started group on My Day has one main action and two icons.
- Guide me (the training icon) highlights the real control on the real screen in at most four short steps. The control stays usable, Tab reaches it, and Escape closes the tour. Guide me never opens a case for you. See Guide me.
- Practise appears on steps that have a training case. It opens train mode, where you work on fictional cases and nothing is sent, delivered or published. See Train mode.
- ? opens this page. Mark complete ticks the step when you have already done it another way.
A step ticks itself when you do it for real. Practising in train mode ticks only the Practise steps. For the whole group, see Get Started.
