AccessPoint installs into your own Microsoft 365 and Azure tenant, so the steps below need a Microsoft 365 / Azure administrator (Global Admin for consent, plus SharePoint and Azure rights). Azure backend

Required

Deploy the AccessPoint backend into your Azure subscription from our Bicep template — the API, database, and storage that run the platform, provisioned in one pass from the Azure portal. Everything stays in your own tenant's subscription and region, hardened by default with TLS 1.3 and Entra-only authentication.

SharePoint app

Required

Install the AccessPoint app into SharePoint Online from Microsoft AppSource. This is the interface your access and privacy team works in every day, connected securely to the API you deployed in step 2 and using your existing Microsoft 365 security and storage.

Microsoft Teams app

Optional

Add AccessPoint to Microsoft Teams if your team wants to work requests inside Teams and receive activity-feed notifications with deep links back to the record. Optional — the platform is fully usable from SharePoint without it. Install the SharePoint app first, since the Teams app loads the same interface.

Migrating from another system?

AccessPoint imports your historical caseload without an ETL engagement — and because everything lands in your own tenant, you're never locked in on the way out either. Here's the practical path, all from Settings → Data import & export.

Export what you have

Any report or export that reaches Excel is enough — your legacy system's built-in reports, or the spreadsheet you track requests in today. Then download AccessPoint's import template: it's generated for your tenant, so its dropdowns already carry your configured request types, stages, and codes.

Validate before anything imports

Uploading the workbook imports nothing by itself — it produces a per-row validation report: what would be created, what would be skipped, and what has errors. Download the error report to get your own workbook back with an Errors column appended, fix, and re-upload. Imports are create-only, so re-running a corrected file is always safe.

Stage your documents

Copy legacy case files into the pre-provisioned migration-staging container in your own storage account — AzCopy for volume, drag-and-drop for smaller sets — and list them on the workbook's Documents tab, with optional hash verification for chain of custody. Staged files auto-delete after 60 days, so nothing sensitive lingers outside the document lifecycle.

Import — historical by construction

The import runs in the background, and imported records are deliberately inert on arrival: no notifications fire, no reviews spawn, no deadlines recompute, and every record carries an Imported audit-trail entry so provenance stays visible. Want a rehearsal first? The Export tab produces the same workbook the importer accepts, so a trial run against a test tenant validates cleanly.

How do I get AccessPoint?

Start on the Microsoft commercial marketplace listing, which begins a 30-day free trial billed through your existing Microsoft relationship. From there the deployment steps on this page install AccessPoint into your own Microsoft 365 and Azure tenant.

What do we need in place to deploy?

A Microsoft 365 tenant and an Azure subscription, and an administrator who can deploy to Azure, install the SharePoint app and consent to the application's permissions. This page includes a ready-to-send note for your IT administrator, and a guided setup is available if you would rather do it together.

How long does deployment take?

Often an afternoon. The Azure template deploys the resources, the SharePoint and Teams apps install from the Marketplace, and the jurisdiction pack configures your deadlines, exemptions and templates.

What does the trial cost?

The licence is free for 30 days and no credit card is needed. The Azure resources AccessPoint uses bill at Microsoft's rates in your subscription for as long as they run, typically around $175 a month for a standard configuration.

What happens after the trial?

Keep the subscription on the Marketplace or cancel it. Either way your data never left your tenant, and a business-readable export of every record is one click away, so there is nothing to unwind.
