Get Started: Sign-Off for Senior Officials
The Reviews and sign-off topic on My Day is shown to reviewers and senior officials. This page covers the two steps for a senior official.
Open a case you are named on
A senior official is the person named on a case to sign off its letters. Open the case from My Day, where letters waiting for you are listed, or from the case's dashboard. The step ticks when you open a case you are named on.
Approve or return a letter
- Open the case. Held letters appear in the Letters awaiting sign-off panel, above the correspondence log.
- Read the letter. You see its body and how many documents are attached.
- Select Approve to release it, or Request changes and add a note. The note returns the letter to the person who drafted it.
Someone who holds the permission to act as senior official sends letters directly, with no approval step. Which letters need sign-off is set by an administrator.
Guide me, Practise and Mark complete
Each step in the Get started group on My Day has one main action and two icons.
- Guide me (the training icon) highlights the real control on the real screen in at most four short steps. The control stays usable, Tab reaches it, and Escape closes the tour. Guide me never opens a case for you. See Guide me.
- Practise appears on steps that have a training case. It opens train mode, where you work on fictional cases and nothing is sent, delivered or published. See Train mode.
- ? opens this page. Mark complete ticks the step when you have already done it another way.
A step ticks itself when you do it for real. Practising in train mode ticks only the Practise steps. For the whole group, see Get Started.
