Consultation Types

Consultation Types define the categories of consultations that can be initiated during request processing.

Common Consultation Types

• Internal consultation (within your organization)
• Other government institution
• Third party
• Provincial / territorial government
• Foreign government

Managing Consultation Types

• Add — Click Add Type, enter the name (and translations if multiple languages are enabled), and save.
• Edit — Click on an existing type to update it.
• Remove — Delete types that are no longer needed.

Usage

When an SAO creates a consultation on a request, they select the consultation type from a dropdown. Consultations track requests for input from other parties — whether internal departments, other government bodies, or external organizations — that are needed before a response can be finalized.
