How to do the Privacy program steps on My Day: open the program, add a privacy subject, link a vendor and a system, record a control and practise.

Get Started: Privacy Program
The Privacy program topic on My Day is for program managers, people who hold the permission to manage the privacy program. It walks you through the inventory the program is built on.
Open the privacy program
Click the Privacy program button on the toolbar (a shield with a padlock). The program opens in one panel with its Overview, where it stands, what is due, and the Inventory.
Add a privacy subject
- Go to Inventory, then the Subjects register.
- Click New subject.
- Enter the name, type, status, business owner, lead program manager and description, and fill in the record of processing if you have it.
- Save. The subject appears as a card in the directory.
Link a vendor and a system to a subject
- Vendor. Add the vendor first on the Vendors register. Then open the subject, go to its ROPA section, choose edit and add the vendor under Processors / vendors, with its role in this processing.
- System. Add the system on the Systems register. Then open the subject's Systems tab and link it with the date it came into use.
Record a control on a subject
Open the subject and go to its Controls tab. Link a control from the shared Controls library and give it a designation: Mandatory, Recommended, Implemented or Not applicable (with the reason). A mandatory control that is not yet implemented shows as a gap in the subject's header.
Practise on a training privacy subject
Select Practise to work on a fictional subject in train mode.
Guide me, Practise and Mark complete
Each step in the Get started group on My Day has one main action and two icons.
- Guide me (the training icon) highlights the real control on the real screen in at most four short steps. The control stays usable, Tab reaches it, and Escape closes the tour. Guide me never opens a case for you. See Guide me.
- Practise appears on steps that have a training case. It opens train mode, where you work on fictional cases and nothing is sent, delivered or published. See Train mode.
- ? opens this page. Mark complete ticks the step when you have already done it another way.
A step ticks itself when you do it for real. Practising in train mode ticks only the Practise steps. For the whole group, see Get Started.
