Information categories — classifying the type of information requested

Information Categories

Information Categories define the types of information that can be requested. They are used for classification and reporting purposes.

Common Categories

  • Personal information
  • Operational information
  • Financial information
  • Policy information
  • Human resources information

Managing Information Categories

  • Add — Click Add Category, enter the name (and translations if multiple languages are enabled), and save.
  • Edit — Click on an existing entry to update it.
  • Remove — Delete entries that are no longer needed.

Usage

When creating or editing a request, the SAO selects one or more information categories to classify what type of information the requestor is seeking. This classification is used in statistical reporting and can help route requests to the appropriate reviewers.
